Education

    Since the beginning of the year, CIK has been operating 6 primary schools in Dagahaley camp with a total enrollment population of 15,193 (5,951 girls) learners as at 31st August 2011. CARE?s education sector has ensured that gender mainstreaming has been done in Dadaab education projects, with the main objective being provision of quality education to the refugees by equipping them with the desired knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to enhances their standards of life as refugees, and to prepare them for the challenges and roles awaiting them in case of possible repatriation or resettlement. Starting January 2011, CARE manages education in Dagahaley camp only.
