Regional Resilience Enhancement Against Drought (RREAD) III

CARE?s RREAD program has partnered with other organizations to address the crisis in livelihoods in Mandera Central and Mandera West districts in North Eastern Kenya. This was done by enhancing drought resilience of the local community and government institutions by improving the community management of natural resources in the region. Improvements come from increasing awareness and improving organizational capacity to plan and respond to crises. The goal of this project is to improve community managed disaster risk reduction and resilience models which are relevant to the livelihoods of pastoralists in drought prone areas.
